Monogram FAQ

Believe it or not, but monograms have been around longer than you think! The first monogram dates back to Greek and Roman rulers as a sign of nobility. Over time, different styles have been created and below are examples of the various styles to choose from:

Traditional

The traditional and most popular monogram is to have the last name initial appear larger in the center, also known as female style:

Mary Margaret Smith:

Masculine

Monograms aren't just for women! Monograms for men are popular as well. The male style displays the initials in the order of first, middle, and last name initials. The initials are also the same size, straight across!

Couples

There are also monograms for couples! The monogram uses the first name initials of the man and the woman along with their shared last name initial! Similar to the traditional style, the last name initial will appear larger in the center! Just don't forget the golden rule: Ladies first!
